Home Business 32 - Earn Money Providing A Temporary Help Service
This one is a great home based service business with excellent growth, high profit potential and a universal market with a growing demand.
A temporary help service provides temporary workers to businesses. The service recruits many skilled and qualfied workers as possible. These workers differ from the regular job seekers in that they seek "temporary" work only ie for few days, weeks or months.
There is a market for these type of workers as some companies prefer or require temporary help at certain times, for example, they might want to fill a temporary reception post for a few months whilst their regular receptionist is on maternity leave, etc.
The businesses where you place these workers pay the salary charges to you. You then pay the workers yourselves and keep the balance as profit to your temporary help service. So, therefore, these workers will be on your books and are only paid by you when they undertake a job assignment.
Charging for this services is simple. You decide what you'll pay the worker. Then add on your profit portion. You will quote and invoice the business this total figure.
In order to get started from home, you will need a small office space with a separate reception area. You will also need some office furniture and equipment like a computer, printer and telephone.
Your first step would be do decide on what niche you are going to specialize in. For instance, will you concentrate only on office jobs, service jobs, artisans, etc? Once you have made this decision, you need to build up a database by getting prospective employees to "list" with you. You could get hundreds of people per day just by taking out a few employment classified ads.
People will contact you and you give them an appointment to see you for an interview. Conduct interviews at your home office and store the interview notes and resumes.
The next stage of this business is to get businesses who are seeking temporay help. You can advertise in business publications, on the web or in the Yellow Pages. Once you get responses, you can attempt to market this service to them. Quote these companies and send them a written quote.
Once they accept, you contact the employee concerned who best matches the job requirements and give him/her the job.
